What happens when you’re ‘too much’
I’ve lived with being told I’m ‘too much’…
All my life, I’ve struggled with shame about how emotionally ‘full on’ I am.
In a world where women are constantly, subtly (and not-so-subtly) told to stay small, quiet and to look after others’ feelings, to fully embody and express feelings like rage, grief, sadness and even exuberance is a revolutionary act.
Yet to self-censor, to keep quiet and stay calm for the sake of others is a path that ultimately robs us of our spark, our wildfire and our unique energy. The relationships we call in don’t feel satisfying, because they are not based on the full authenticity of who we truly are.
If this sounds familiar to you, know that you are not alone. To begin to embody and express all of who you are can feel scary. But trust me, I’ve walked this path and found liberation and exhilaration as I released fear of showing up, fully.
I’m right here, to see you, to witness you and honour the woman you are at your deepest, wildest and most beautiful core.
Are you ready to bring your fire to the world?
Join me for this month’s ‘Alchemy of Dance’ online movement sessions. Take it at your own pace, from your own home. Come as you are, and be guided through a journey towards your own heart, into the wisdom of your own body.
Here’s what one recent participant had to say about dancing with me…
“She holds space from a no-nonsense, come as you are place, which is underpinned by a deep understanding of the power of movement to music.”
