Your strong and resilient body

How do you feel your own strength? How do you know your own deep resilience?

As I’ve grown older, I’ve learnt the wisdom of softness and rest as much as I have embraced a love of feeling the strength of my body. I have learned that I need a balance of both. Some days I really need to hit the gym and work out hard. Other days it’s a dance at home, tending to my tiredness or the rawness of an emotion that’s passing through my heart. Another day it might be a walk with a friend, moving together and sharing stories as we go.

Movement is at the heart of my daily wellness practice - but how I move changes.

You don’t have to be an Amazonian warrior to know your own strength and grace. You don’t have to be a highly trained sportswoman or work out every day. Feeling strong and resilient means listening to your body and what it needs to stay in balance. Movement helps, but perhaps it’s a daily walk in nature rather than a 10k run.

Take a moment to connect in with the feeling of strength in your body. However you are, there is a wellspring of resilience deep within you. Draw from that place and begin to move, allowing your physicality to express your innate strength, however that feels for you.
