I'm going into the dark

"Not hiding. Wintering. There's a difference."

What if the most revolutionary thing you could do right now is absolutely nothing?

I've been sitting with that question.

Not as a concept. In my body. In the particular quality of exhaustion that arrives when you've been pouring from a place of genuine depth for months, and something ancient in you finally says: enough.

This is wintering

This is not burnout. This is not breakdown. This is wintering.

There's a rhythm to transformation that the relentless productivity culture has almost entirely erased from our bodies' memory.

It's the rhythm of the earth itself, the part that knows you cannot bloom all year. The part that understands that the dark, the fallow, the silent is not emptiness. It's where the next thing gestates.

Your brain needs to release what it's been holding.

Your body needs to stop performing aliveness and actually feel it.

Presence over performance

Your soul, that wild, untamed part of you that has been patient through every loop, every pattern, every 2 AM scroll, it doesn't want more content.

It wants presence.

It wants to be in a room with other women who understand that the deepest wisdom lives in what we've been taught to hide.

I'm listening to that.

I'm stepping back from the screen.

I'm letting the thinking mind rest and the body speak.

I'm doing the thing I guide others to do, actually allowing the wintering, not narrating it from a safe intellectual distance.

Stop transmitting. Start receiving.

This is not about healing. It's about listening.

And right now, my body is speaking clearly:

Absorb.

Release.

Rest.

Connect in person.

Stop transmitting and start receiving.

If you've felt the pull of this too... if something in you recognises this particular ache for stillness, for depth, for presence over performance, then you already know what this season is asking of you.

Trust that.

The lighthouse doesn't shine less because it goes quiet in the off-season.

It's gathering the light it needs to guide what's coming.

I'll be back with something deeper, something that has had time to truly form.

See you later in the summer.

A gentle invitation

If these words resonated with you, perhaps they're an invitation to honour your own season of rest and trust the wisdom that comes from slowing down.

If you'd like to explore my current offerings, writings and upcoming events, you're warmly invited to discover more.
